Getting to Exeter

  • By plane: If you are flying to the UK, your best bet is to fly into one of the London airports (e.g. Heathrow or Gatwick) or Bristol airport, as flights to Exeter are limited. At the Bristol airport, you will have to take the bus to Bristol Temple Meads train station where you can catch a train to Exeter. At Heathrow or Gatwick airports, you can catch a train directly at the airport, although it may take a few connections and it is better to book it in advance. If you fly to Heathrow, we recommend taking the Heathrow Express or Elizabeth line to London Paddington, and then a train from there to Exeter St Davids.
  • By train: Purchase a train ticket to Exeter St. David's station which is both the main Exeter train station and the station closest to campus. Tickets can be purchased at Trainline or GWR.
  • By bus: National Express coaches call at Exeter Coach Station. The Coach Station is a short walk to the High Street where you can catch the local D bus (timetable in PDF) which will take you to the Streatham Campus.
  • Getting to campus: There are taxis available at the train station, but the trip is also walkable (especially if you like hills. Note: the hill is quite steep so consider a taxi if you have lots of baggage!). Apple Taxis Exeter (01392 666666) have a dedicated taxi rank on campus.
